Teenager in Florida Gets Speared While Spearfishing

As many of you probably heard, and as reported by several different news agencies including BBC News, a teenager in Florida was shot in the head while spearfishing.  We hate to hear stories like this, but miraculously he has survived and the 36 inch spear has been removed from him head.

He was spearfishing with a buddy and and his friend accidently shot him.  The spear entered his right eye and passed through the back of his head.  It is unclear as of now what long term or permanent damage has been done, however, he has successfully gone through surgery and is in recovery.

Just another reminder about safety while spearfishing.  It's one of the best sports on earth, but every time you load your gun you need to realize that you are holding a dangerous weapon.

Safe spearing!

Doesn't look like it went threw his eye in the pic. But wow, the fact that he's still living is a miracle.
